Timber seized in Torghar

MANSEHRA: The Forest Department seized a large quantity of timber and received a fine of Rs100,000 from smugglers in Nusratkhel area of Torghar on Thursday.
"Though the Forest Department remains active, special teams have also been constituted to check deforestation in Kunder Hassanzai forests and seizure of timber is part of this strategy," Mohammad Maqbool, the sub-divisional officer, told reporters on Thursday. A special team led by Saddam Hussain raided Kunder Forest and seized illegally cut woods and also arrested timber smugglers who were released after receiving fine.
