Happy New Year

The News wishes its readers a very happy New Year. A time of new beginnings and fresh starts also comes with a time of reflection. A lot can happen in a year and between the good, the bad and the ugly but on the road to success, the rule is always to look ahead - you should let go of the past and start off anew.

The New Year is the perfect occasion to appreciate all the good things that the past year has given and all the good things that are yet to come. In the days that have passed all of us must have experienced beautiful moments that made us feel happy to be alive, as well as those that made us sad or unhappy. To make better use of our lives -- a will to do better than the year that has gone -- will be a good resolution to make.

As we celebrate, let us pray that human rights are respected and love and brotherhood among the peoples of the world prevail; that peace and prosperity are the hallmarks of the year throughout the world, especially in those countries which have suffered conflicts and natural disasters that have devastated so many homes. Life has to go on, so let us look forward to a better tomorrow. It’s been said before but it’s a beautiful thought to live by -- ‘One day at a time -- this is enough. Do not look back and grieve over the past and do not be troubled about the future, for it has yet to come. Live in the present and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering.
