PESHAWAR: The capital city police have busted seven gangs involved in street crimes and arrested 24 hardened criminals, officials said on Monday. “We have adopted an aggressive policy against street criminals. During the last few days, seven gangs have been busted and 24 criminals arrested,” Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations, Peshawar, Zahoor Babar Afridi, told a press conference at the Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines. The official said 61 cellular phones, motorbikes, weapons and looted cash were recovered from the busted gangs. He added that one person who used to sell the snatched phones in Afghanistan was also been arrested. The SSP said the police in all the police stations had been directed to go after the criminals’ rings and ensure the security of the people at all costs.
