Four dacoits killed in Sialkot police ‘encounter’
SIALKOT: Four dacoits were killed during an ‘encounter’ in the limits of Uggoki police on Monday.
According to the police, six dacoits on two motorcycles snatched valuables from Asif near Muzaffarpur railway crossing. In the meantime, the police rushed to the spot and started chasing the bandits. On seeing the police, the dacoits opened fire at the police party, which was retaliated. As a result, four dacoits were killed while two managed to flee. The police after seizing weapons, bullets and looted cash and other valuables took the bodies in custody for postmortem. The police claimed that the dacoits were killed by the firing of their own accomplices. On the other hand, locals said that the dacoits killed in encounter might be involved in an incident on Sunday in which six armed men at gun point had stopped a police van and freed their three accomplices from the police custody.
