39 culprits held
Islamabad: Islamabad Police have arrested 39 culprits during the last 24 hours in its crackdown against criminal elements and recovered narcotics, liquor and weapons from them, a police spokesman said.
Following directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Muhammad Aamir Zulfqar Khan, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Waqar Ud Din Syed issued directions to all zonal officers for renewed efforts against those involved in anti-social activities.
Owing these efforts, Abpara police arrested two liquor sellers namely Adan Rafaqat and Rehan Masih and recovered 25-liter wine from their possession. Bhara Khau police arrested accused Zaman Naveed and recovered two wine bottles from him while police also arrested accused Nazer Muhammad involved in illegally oil selling. Banigala police arrested two accused Muhammad Ramazan and Abdul Qadeer violating section 144 while police also arrested 11 persons involved in land grabbing identified as Muhammad Pervez, Muhammad Ishmail, Tahir Abbas, Abdul Gahfoor, Naseer Ahmed, Essa, Muhammad Akber, Muhammad Khalid, Muhammad Munair, Ali Hassan and Shahid Abbas.
Golra police arrested four gamblers namely Qadeem Khan, Noor Saddique, Irfan and Fahim Nadeem. Tarnol police arrested accused Muhammad Rashid and recovered 250 gram heroin from him. Shahzad Town police arrested accused Altaf and recovered 105 gram heroine, while Khanna police apprehended 03 accused namely Asif Farooq, Abdul Aziz and Naseer Ahmed and recovered 1100 gram hashish and two 30 bore pistols along with ammunition from their possession. Nilore police arrested accused Rizwan Khizer and recovered one 30-bore pistol from him. Sihala police arrested two accused Sulman Nasir and Rehmat-Ullah and recovered 40-liter wine and 510 gram hashish from their possession.
During special campaign against proclaimed offenders and court absconders in Capital, police has also arrested 10 proclaimed offenders and court absconder from different areas. Cases against all arrested accused have been registered and further investigation is underway from them.
