peshawar:The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Thursday dismissed bail petition of a terror suspect.
A single bench of Justice Asadullah Khan Chamkani dismissed the bail petition of the terror suspect Iran Shah after hearing arguments of his lawyer and law officer representing the state. Iran Shah is stated to be the mastermind of suicide attack on Judicial Complex, Peshawar, where four people were killed and 47 others injured.
During arguments, the additional advocate general submitted before the bench that the police had arrested the terror suspect on June 8, 2015 on the information of another co-accused Abdul Ghafoor, who had been arrested from Khurasan IDPs camp in connection with the Judicial Complex attack.
As per the statement of the co-accused, Iran Shah was mastermind of the suicide attack on Judicial Complex and he had spent two nights with him before the attack. He said that sufficient evidence was on record against the terror suspect and he opposed his release.
On the other hand, counsel for the petitioner submitted before the bench that there was no solid proof on record against his client. He requested the court to issue his release order on bail. On May 29, 2015, the arrested co-accused Abdul Ghafoor had confessed to his involvement in the Judicial Complex attack before the anti-terrorism court. Four people had been killed and 47 others, including two female lawyers, injured in the suicide attack on March 18, 2013.
