Plan chalked out to boost tourism in Swat: GOC

MINGORA: GOC Malakand, Major-General Ijaz Mirza on Friday said that a comprehensive plan has been chalked out to boost tourism in all parts of the division, including the Swat valley.

Talking to a delegation of journalists from Swat and district Shangla at Khwazakhela, Major General Ijaz Mirza said that peace has been restored to entire Malakand Division due to the sacrifices rendered by the security forces, police and locals.

Brigadier Naseen Anwar, Colonel Sohail, Swat Union of Journalists President Mahboob Ali Yousafzai, Swat Press Club Chairman Shahzad Alam, and other journalists were present on the occasion. "We are taking drastic steps to promote tourism in this scenic region. Peaceful and colourful Swat is an attraction not only for the local tourists but tourists from the foreign also wish to come here," said the official and hoped that next year would bring more prosperity and tranquillity to this part of the world.

Major-General Ijaz Mirza asked the locals to keep a close eye on miscreants, so that they may not succeed to damage the peaceful environment. "The Saidu Sharif airport will be opened for flights soon, which will not only provide ease in communication.”
