Islamabad :The News wishes its readers who are celebrating today (Wednesday), a very Happy Christmas. While many people say it’s a ‘season to be jolly’ in word and song, it is also the season to share time with family and friends and renew commitment to the message of peace, love and prosperity that it brings. May the good times and treasures of the present become the golden memories of tomorrow and may the closeness of friends, the comfort of home and the unity of our nation, renew your spirits on this occasion.
It is also time for all Pakistanis to committing themselves to contribute, in whatever small way, to making Pakistan more like the country the founder of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam envisaged, since it is also his birthday. It is appropriate to recall his message of interfaith harmony and co-existence and live up to it. In these troubled times we tend to forget, all too often, the significance of his words when he addressed all those who live in this country -- be they of whatever faith -- to remain united and live in peace and harmony.
And it has to be said. There is something about this festival that makes even those of us who are not of the faith want to join in the festivities and celebrate with our Christian friends. Once again, thinking of all of you who are celebrating and wishing you an extra measure of comfort, joy and hope this season.
