HANGU: Bodies of two minor children of a doctor, who were kidnapped early in the day, were recovered on Tuesday night, police said.
They said that five-year-old Muskan and two-year-old Muhammad were kidnapped from Bhatu Killay in Thall tehsil adjacent to Kurram Agency. “The bodies of children of Dr Amir Nawaz were found in Khfyanga locality at 10pm,” local sources said.
The police said the area falls under the jurisdiction of the political administration of Kurram Agency. However, locals of the area claimed that Bhatu Killay was part of Thall tehsil in Hangu district.
The reason behind the kidnapping and killing of minors could not be ascertained. The political administration arrested nephew of the Dr Amir Nawaz on the basis of suspicion.
Muhammad Farooq adds from Swabi: A 12-year-old child was stoned to death by unidentified persons in the mountainous terrain of Saleem Khan here on Wednesday, said police.
Zarwali Khan, father of the slain child, who lives in Kaglach village in Saleem Khan area, told reporters that his son left home for the nearby madrassa, but he was targetted by unidentified people before reaching there.
He said the family looked for the child, Jalal Khan, when he didn’t return home. He said his body was found in the nearby mountain known as Suri Ghar. “He was stoned to death as there were signs of injuries on his body,” Zarwali added said.
He said he didn’t know as to who killed his minor son and why. However, a police official said it seemed the child had secret information about some illegal activities either in his family or in neighbourhood and that could be the reason behind his death.
