‘18th Amendment being attacked while installing selected’
QUETTA: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on Sunday that 18th Constitutional Amendment is being attacked by installing a “selected”.“We do not accept any selector or selected.
For us, only the will of the people is acceptable. Not an umpire’s finger,” Bilawal said while addressing a gathering of party supporters in Quetta. The PPP chairman said his party has decided to go to Rawalpindi once again to tell people that the source power lays with the masses.
Bilawal said that it was time to end the reign of puppets and bring to power those who had the support of masses. He said that confronting the prime minister will not be difficult. “We (PPP) has faced dictators. Who is this puppet,” he asked, referring to Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Bilawal said that if opponents thought they could frighten the son of Benazir Bhutto, they were wrong. He said that the current selected government did not want to give development opportunities to people of Balochistan under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), adding that the power is being given to selected while snatching it from masses. He said attacks are carried out on democratic rights. He said that no amnesty scheme is introduced for small businessmen and no bailout package is given to the farmers.
Bilawal said the Bhutto’s third generation is facing trial, adding that former president Asif Ali Zardari will never compromise on his principles. He said his father couldn’t be pressurised even after he wasn’t provided medical facilities for six months. He said his aunt Faryal Talpur was kept in Adiala Jail. He said trial of Sindh’s cases is being conducted in Rawalpindi. He said the rulers think they can silence their voice through injustice.
