A 30-year-old property dealer was shot and injured on reportedly offering resistance in the Defence-B police limits on Monday. The injured was identified as Ijaz. He deals in property business at his office in H-Market. A police official said they received a call at 04:06pm about the incident. They reached the incident place and found the victim in a pool of blood. They shifted the victim to a nearby hospital, collected forensic evidences and registered the statements of eye-witnesses. He said the victim told them that an unidentified accused entered into his shop. He whipped out his weapon and tried to snatch his cash and valuables. He offered resistance on which he shot and injured him. Afterwards, he fled the scene. Police were further investigating the matter.
Rewarded: DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf lauded the brave act of an injured cop who had challenged criminals by putting his life at stake at a picket in the Shera Kot police limits on Monday. He expressed these views during a prize distribution ceremony at his office on Monday. The DIG said this resolve would always remain alive in Lahore police. He said they were proud of their soldiers who confronted the enemy fearlessly. The DIG awarded commendatory certificates and Rs. 50,000 cash prize to injured Constable Faisal Shahzad, Rs. 5,000 to DSP Mobile Squad, Rs. 5,000 to Constable Arif Raza, Rs. 5,000 to Constable Habib Ahmad, Rs. 5,000 to Constable Saeed and Rs. 20,000 each to Constables Nasar Hussain and Asif Hussain who chased the suspects.
