Islamabad :Speakers emphasised on the importance of designing projects in the line of water, energy and food nexus while speaking at the concluding day of a two-day consultation workshop on ‘Localisation of Water, Energy and Food Nexus to Pakistan’s Local Governance.’
Organised by Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR), the workshop was addressed by Farid Alam from The Asia Foundation Pakistan, Dr. Sagar Parsai from The Asia Foundation Nepal, Ahmad Kamal, Chairman Federal Flood Commission, Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, Chairman PCRWR.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sagar Parsai emphasised on the importance of designing projects in the line of nexus policies. While delivering synthesis report, Farid Alam, Director Programme, The Asia Foundation highlighted the importance of awareness, rainwater harvesting and information systems for the management of water food, energy and climate nexus in Pakistan.
The Chairman, Federal Flood Commission, Ahmad Kamal remarked that each policy is important but needs to be implemented with the consultation at local stakeholders. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, Chairman, PCRWR concluded the session by taking oath from the participants for conserving water and food in daily lives.
