WANA: The tribal elders on Tuesday expressed concern over the rising incidents of theft, kidnapping and carjacking in South Waziristan tribal district.
Talking to media persons, Luqman Shah, Feroz Khan and others said that unidentified thieves stole 15 power transformers in Sararogha. They said that unidentified car-snatchers took away a double cabin vehicle from one Said Amin in Kaniguram, adding, the case had been registered with the police.
“The tribal people are not used to the police system in the newly merged area that’s why they seem to be reluctant to cooperate with the police,” Luqman
Shah said. They said the police were facing hardships in patrolling the area as it was different from other districts.
The elders asked the provincial police chief and Peshawar corps commander to take notice of the rising incidents of thefts in the district.
