PCB reducing reliance on private security
KARACHI: PCB is hiring security guards for Karachi’ National Stadium under its plan to gradually reduce reliance on private security companies, ‘The News’ learnt on Monday. PCB has already posted some security officials at the stadium.
At its headquarters, Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, PCB has its own security system and the same policy would be adopted for Karachi, an official of the PCB said. He said that some security guards have been appointed on contractual basis in Karachi. They have started their duty on various gates of the stadium, including the main entrance, with private guards.
Meanwhile, the National Stadium management has started the preparation for the second Test match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, which is scheduled to be played from December 19-23.
