US journalists visit AIOU
Islamabad :A six-member delegation of American journalists and academicians visited the Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) here on Thursday under the US-Pakistan Professional partnership programme.
The initiative was aimed at promoting mutual cooperation and sharing expertise and experience, particularly in the field of Mass Communication.
The delegation was led by a leading American journalist Dr. Joe Foote, who is currently working as Dean Emeritus of the Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication.
The member of the delegation included Durrie Bouscaren, David Fritze, Taylor Newcomb and Dick Pryor, who were representing print and electronic media in the United States, besides the Oklahoma University, USA.
During the visit, the delegation held detailed discussion with the senior officials and academicians of the AIOU, including Dean, Faculty of Education Dr. Nasir Mahmood, Registrar Dr. Muhammad Zaigham Qadeer, Director Regional Services Inamullah Shiekh, Dean Social Sciences Dr. Samina Awan and Chairman Department of Mass Communication Dr. Saqib Riaz.
The AIOU would welcome its mutual inter-exchanges with Oklahoma University, particularly in the field of media studies, he added. Dr. Joe said he was highly impressed by the contribution of the AIOU in the field of education.
