KP CM wants Mamad Ghat Cadet College to launch academic session next year

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has directed to launch academic session at the newly-established Cadet College Mamad Ghat in Mohmand district by April 2020.

He directed the Finance Department to release the funds for the purpose, said an official handout. The chief minister was presiding over separate meetings of the board of governors of Mamad Ghat Cadet College and Swat Cadet College at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Peshawar. The meeting was attended by IG FC, GOC 21 Art Division, Malakand commissioner, Mohmand deputy commissioner, Director HRD GHQ, Principals of the concerned Cadet Colleges, administrative secretaries, and other officials.

The participants of the meeting were briefed about the facilities available at Mamad Ghat Cadet College, proposed timelines for the functioning of the college and the related issues.

They were informed that class 8th and class 11th were planned to be launched in April 2020 and phase-wise increase in the number of cadets had been proposed.

It was told that 80 cadets would be enrolled in class 8th and 80 in class 11th for the academic year 2020-21. Up to 80 cadets would be given admission in the class Secondary Education Sector included: development of play areas in primary schools of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, KP girls community schools project Phase-1 and 2, reconstruction of dilapidated primary, middle and higher schools on need basis in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Approved projects of Sports & Tourism sector are up-gradation of Peshawar Sport Complex, Qayyum Stadium establishment of sports complex at Karak, construction of key archaeological sites of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, holding of important tourism festivals in KP, a sustainable sports support programme for talented Sportspersons of the province, youth development package. Approved project of multi-sectoral development sector is governance and policy reforms programme.
