MANSEHRA: Assistant Commissioner Oghi Mohammad Shajeen Vistro said on Wednesday that those who took the law into their hands during the protest against shortage of doctors and paramedical staff in Darband last week would be taken to justice.
“The Health Department has posted a doctor and the post of a lady doctor would soon be filled out at the hospital,” Vistro told a public forum held at Darband.
Though people raised various issues, the shortage of doctors and medical staff at Tehsil Hospital Darband was the main demand of the people.
The assistant commissioner said that some protesters who he believed had taken the law into their hands and threatened the officials with dire consequences would be taken to justice.
He said that people should extend cooperation to the administration.
“I am already in contact with the deputy commissioner and the district health officer. I have asked them to post staff to fully operate Darband hospital,” said Vistro.
However, the local people said that a minor girl, who was pulled out alive from a well, couldn’t survive due to the shortage of doctors and paramedical staff at the Darband hospital.
The people had taken to the streets against the shortage of doctors and other staff at the Darband hospital.
