Human bones were found in different parts of a park in Nazimabad area on Wednesday. The bones were seen during an excavation at a site of Green Line Project. The contractor immediately approached police.

Subsequently, police reached the Annu Bhai Park and took all bones into the custody. Police said bones of different sizes wrapped in clothes were found in different parts of the park and that all the bones had been sent to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for investigation.

SSP District Central Arif Aslam Rao told media that a preliminary investigation suggested that the bones were medical wastage and had been buried many years ago.

The officer said these bones could have been separated from bodies during surgeries and that no human skeleton had been found. A private orthopedic hospital is located near the Annu Bhai Park from where the bones were found. Police are also questioning the hospital administration.

However, the hospital denied any involvement. The hospital said if any body parts were separated from a person’s body during a surgery, they had always been handed over to family. Otherwise, the hospital staff took responsibility to properly bury any body parts in a graveyard, the hospital said.
