Cops’ problems to be solved: RPO

MARDAN: Officials from various parts of the district attended a police darbar here on Monday where different issues related to the Police Department were discussed.

Addressing the event at the police lines, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sher Akbar Khan assured to solve problems faced by the police officers and cops. District Police Officer (DPO) Mohammad Sajjad Khan and other officers were present on the occasion. Sher Akbar said the Police Department had the best accountability system and it would continue to reward dutiful, competent and responsible officers and take stern action against incompetent officers and officials.

The RPO pointed out that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police has created a history of valour while fighting terrorism and even the international community recognised this bravery of the force. He asked the police officials to crack down on display of weapons, sale of narcotics and land grabbing in the region.

The senior cop added that police being the servant of the public should obey their duties honestly and professionally. Addressing the police darbar, DPO Sajjad Khan said that a police hospital, a gym at the police lines and vocational training centre had been set up for the families of policemen, particularly the widows of police martyrs.

“The welfare activities for the police and their families are meant to enable them to perform better and be public-friendly,” he added. He also said that the Dispute Resolution Councils (DRCs) and Police Assistance Lines (PAL) were also facilitating the public in different issues.

Later, the RPO placed floral wreaths at the memorials of martyrs and also went around the police hospital and vocational centre.
