Minister hints ataction against corrupt ETPB officials
NANKANA SAHIB: Interior Minister Ijaz Shah Monday said a huge corruption has been detected in Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) affairs. Chairing a meeting about issues of ETPB at the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Office here, Ijaz Shah said strict action would be taken against corrupt officers and employees of the ETPB.
He said Siddiqul Farooq allowed land grabbers to occupy the ETPB land. The minister said taking notice of the corruption in the ETPB, Prime Minister Imran Khan constituted a committee to handle the ETPB affairs.
He said according to the PM decision, the ETPB land would be used only for building educational institutions, hospitals and parks. He said rates of lease would be increased and remaining dues would be collected from the ETPB tenants.
