Winners of Chrysanthemum Show get prizes
LAHORE:The prize distribution ceremony of Chrysanthemum Show 2019 was held here at Jilani Park on Sunday.
A large number of people from different walks of life visited the park and enjoyed the colourful show which displayed more than 200 varieties of chrysanthemum. The show was organised by the Horticultural Society of Pakistan (HSP) in collaboration with the Parks Horticulture Authority (PHA) Lahore. Talking to The News, visitors appreciated the show arrangements and termed it a really healthy and educational activity. Faisal, a visitor, said he really loved seeing colourful flowers arranged and managed in an artistic manner. Another visitor, Umair, said flowers were associated with anything beautiful and he really enjoyed the show. Former chairman of Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) Tariq Hameed and Chairman PHA Lahore Engr Yasir Gilani distributed the prizes among the winners of the Chrysanthemum Show 2019. In the professional category, Jilani Park secured the first position while Bagh-e-Jinnah clinched the second position. Among amateurs, Sikandar Mustafa Khan, Chairman Millat Tractors, was declared first while among colleges Aitchison College and among universities GC University bagged the first position. Among hotels, Avari bagged the first prize while residences Mrs Sikandar Mustafa and Mian Mughees also won prizes in the Chrysanthemum Show 2019.
It is pertinent to mention that a huge floral display of a colourful seascape by the Floral Art Society of Pakistan (Lahore chapter) kept on attracting attention and admiration of the visitors at Chrysanthemum Show 2019 on the third day. The colourful seascape has been prepared with different varieties of chrysanthemum. The show will continue until December 8.
