Several officials transferred as major reshuffle continues in Sindh police

The Sindh police department has on Friday continued with the reshuffling of police officials and transferred and posted several of its officials ranking from BS-18 to BS-21.

The police department has been carrying out a massive reshuffle in the force across the province since the release of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London’s alleged notorious target killer Yousuf Theleywala’s controversial video last week.

Apart from surrendering the services of former District East SSP Ghulam Azfar Mahesar to the federal government and dismissing Mahesar’s close confidant head constable Imran Gujjar, several other policemen have been transferred and posted across the province, particularly in Karachi.

Sources said that more reshuffling in the department is expected in the coming days. A senior police official in the Central Police Office, who wished not to be named, told The News that the transfers and postings were a routine matter and they did not happen in the aftermath of the release of Theleywala’s controversial video. “These police officials have been posted to the vacant posts after they returned after getting training,” the senior police official explained.

According to a notification issued by Sindh IGP Dr Syed Kaleem Imam on Friday, Imran Yaqoob Minhas, an officer of the Police Service of Pakistan (BS-21), additional inspector general of police, Special Branch, Sindh, is allowed to hold the charge of the additional IGP, Establishment and Training, Sindh, in addition to his own duties.

Syed Muhammad Abbas Rizvi, an office of the Police Service of Pakistan (BS-19), presently posted as senior superintendent of police, intelligence, Special Branch, Karachi, is transferred and posted with immediate effect and until further orders as assistant deputy inspector general of police, admin, investigation, Crime Branch, Karachi, against an existing vacancy.

Shad Ibne Masih, an office of the Police Service of Pakistan (BS-18), presently awaiting posting in the Central Police Office, is transferred and posted with immediate effect and until further orders as senior superintendent of police, intelligence, Special Branch, Karachi.

Ali Bux alias Aftab Nizami, an office of the Police Service of Pakistan (BS-18), presently posted as superintendent of police, Complaint Cell, Hyderabad Range, is transferred and posted with immediate effect and until further orders as superintendent of police, Special Branch, Hyderabad, against an existing vacancy.

Syed Aamir Abbas, an office of the Police Service of Pakistan (BS-18), presently awaiting posting in the office of the additional IGP Special Branch, Sindh, is transferred and posted with immediate effect and until further orders as superintendent of police, Complaint Cell, Hyderabad Range.

Junaid Ahmed Shaikh, an officer of the Police Service of Pakistan (BS-18), presently posted as assistant deputy inspector general of police, Establishment Karachi Range, is transferred and posted with immediate effect and until further orders as superintendent of police, Investigation III, District Korangi, East Zone, Karachi, vice Syed Abdul Rahim Sheerazi, is transferred while Sheerazi has been transferred and posted to SSP Anti Violent Crime Cell.

Shoukat Ali Khatian, an officer of the Police Service of Pakistan as senior superintendent of police, Principal, SBB, EPTC Razzakabad, Karachi, and holding the charge of senior superintendent of police/principal, PTC, Saeedabad, Karachi is hereby cancelled. while Khatian is transferred and posted as SSP Principal, Police Training College, Saeedabad, Karachi, against an existing vacancy.

According to the transfer and posting orders issued by Additional IG Karachi Ghulam Nabi Memon, Captain (retd) Ameer Saud, awaiting posting in the Karachi Police Office, has been appointed SP Traffic District South Karachi, replacing Dr Assad Ejaz Malhi, who has been transferred and directed to report to the KPO.

Irum Awan, awaiting posting in the Karachi Police Office, has been appointed SP Traffic District West Karachi, against an existing vacancy. Tahir Ahmed Noorani, awaiting posting in the Karachi Police Office, has been appointed SP Malir Division, East Zone, against an existing vacancy.

Meanwhile, in pursuance of the government of Pakistan’s Cabinet Secretariat Establishment Division and the Government of Sindh’s Services, General Administration and Coordination Department, Aftab Ahmed Pathan (BS-21), an officer of the Police Services of Pakistan has relinquished the charge of the office of the additional IGP Establishment and Training Sindh, Karachi.
