Christians, Sikhs condemn desecration of holy Quran
LAHORE: Muslims, Christians and Sikhs held a press conference on Wednesday to condemn an attempt to desecrate the Holy Quran by a hatemonger in Norway.
Addressing the press conference held at Lahore Press Club, Punjab Human Rights Minister Ijaz Alam Augustine said he had written a letter to the government of Norway on behalf of the government of Pakistan, condemning the act and demanding the government of Norway deal with the miscreants strictly. The organisation under whose banner the heinous act was planned has been banned in Norway.
The other speakers included Kashif Alexander of Christian Lawyers Association, Father Shahzad Khokhar, who has a Masters degree in Islamic Studies, Mahinder Pal, parliamentary secretary for Human Rights and Haroon Imran Gill, MPA.
