LAHORE:An Accountability court on Thursday extended judicial remand of former federal minister Khwaja Saad Rafique and former Punjab minister Khwaja Salman Rafique till Nov 29 in Paragon Housing Society case.

The court also allowed Saad to leave for Islamabad to attend a standing committee meeting upon production of orders. The Khwaja brothers were produced before the court on expiry of remand amid tight security arrangements. Heavy contingent of police were deployed on the occasion to maintain law and order.

The court allowed him to talk to his counsel and also told him that moving the motion was his constitutional right. The court further announced deciding the complaint after reply from the authorities concerned.

Cross examination of two witnesses was conducted during the hearing. The court summoned the approver Qaiser Amin Butt to submit his statement before adjourning the hearing till November 29.
