Sindh Varsity students bailed out Bail set at Rs 20,000

SUKKUR: The District and Sessions Judge, Jamshoro, granted a pre-arrest bail to the 17 students who were booked in anti-state cases by Jamshoro Police on Wednesday.

The students of the Sindh University of Jamshoro were granted pre arrest bail on submitting a surety of Rs 20,000 each. Advocate Sajjad Chandio, Rehan Ahmed Mallah and Meer Ahmed Mangrio pleaded the case in the court of District and Sessions Judge, Jamshoro.

They were booked by the university’s police post in anti-state cases. The District and Sessions Judge, Mano Mal Khaghaija, granted pre arrest bail to the students against a surety sum of Rs 20,000 each.

The students claimed that they had carried out a protest against the hostel warden and the university administration on October 31 for shortage of water at their hostel.

Meanwhile, the civil society condemned registration of FIR on trumped up charges against the students of the Sindh University, Jamshoro. Dr. Professor Irfan Mallah questioned registering the FIR after 18 days. He said many of those mentioned in the FIR were neither the university students nor they ever used the hostel facilities.
