Dowry is one of the social evils which has become a barrier to a normal life for women. Due to the dowry system, the poor find it difficult to get their daughters married, or even educated

In Pakistan 2,000 cases of dowry deaths are counted per year. In neighbouring country India, dowry related violence is very high. In the last three years around 24,771 women were killed or committed suicide in India due to dowry-related violence. I appeal to the incumbent government to pass strict laws against dowry, and then ensure that they are implemented all over the country.
