The Madadgar 15 police helpline will be upgraded to international standards to meet the citizens’ expectations, said Maqsood Ahmed Memon on Tuesday.

The spokesman for the Special Security Unit (SSU) Karachi said that on the directives of Sindh Inspector General of Police Dr Syed Kaleem Imam and as part of a series of meetings in connection with the newly established Police Security and Emergency Service Division, Police Security and Emergency Service Division DIG Maqsood Ahmed Memon convened a meeting at the Madagar15 office.

It was decided in the meeting that mobiles of Madadgar 15, Special Security Unit, (SSU) and Muhafiz Force would jointly work as an emergency response force and act on any information received on the helpline.

The DIG ordered installing live cameras in all police mobiles of the emergency response force. He announced mini-tablets would be given to each police mobile. Memon reviewed the performance of Madadgar 15 and sought suggestions and solutions from all stakeholders to reduce the response time of police towards emergency situations.

Senior officers of Madadgar 15 and the SSU and other stakeholders attended the meeting and appreciated the DIG’s efforts to revamp Madadgar 15.
