CDA to pay salaries of MCI sanitary workers

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will foot the bill of sanitation contractor for the third consecutive month so that sanitary workers could get their salaries.

The salaries of sanitary workers are already delayed by nearly one week. The CDA Chairman Aamer Ali took up task of paying salaries of sanitary workers who works under the Municipal Corporation of Islamabad (MCI). "The chairman took the initiative order to save the city and ensure proper cleanliness," an official told 'The News.’

The MCI has not been able to utilize over rupees one billion lying in its account for last several months. "We cannot utilize this amount because we do not have any financial wing in MCI," an official of MCI while giving a justification said.

Meanwhile, the Islamabad Mayor Shaikh Anser Aziz had already left for London without ensuring salaries of employees reportedly to facilitate stay and treatment of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who is scheduled to leave Pakistan on Tuesday (today).
