Academician challenges SALU selection board decision in SHC
SUKKUR: Dr Noor Hussain Chandio, Assistant Professor Department of Geography, challenged the decision of selection board of Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur in Sindh High Court Sukkur bench and claimed the board was practicing nepotism and favouritism.
Dr Noor Chandio in his petition maintained that he had applied for the post of associate professor in department of geography, but the university’s board told him that his case was deferred. He said he was the only candidate in the department of geography to apply for the vacant post of associate professor, demanding the decision of the selection board should be nullified. Upon inquiring about the reasons, the authorities informed that his PhD degree was challenged at the Sindh High Court Sukkur bench, he claimed.
The academician alleged that some other candidates’ degrees were also challenged in the SHC Sukkur bench but they were appointed as professors in grade-21. He maintained in his petition that the university’s reply was not satisfactory.
