Govt action on minister’s interview lauded

ISLAMABAD: Geo News Director News Rana Jawwad said that Senator Mushahidullah Khan’s interview to BBC had created a lot of controversy however he rejected the allegations saying that he was misquoted and out of context.
Mushahidullah made it clear that he termed the alleged plot hatched by former chief of premier spy agency as just rumours and hearsay.
Rana Jawwad said that for cooling down the situation, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid came forward and termed all these statements baseless, false and concocted.
Lt General (R) Moinuddin Haider said that it was an appropriate step taken by the government and it was also a suitable action to sacrifice one individual to save the country’s stability.
He said that the government had to face heavy loss if it would have concealed this mistake whether it was done or not. He said that Mushahidullah made it clear that he did not have confirmed facts and also he was not present at that meeting.
