CHARSADDA: The Education Department on Friday awarded 0.9 million cash prizes to female teachers of the two state-run girls schools in Charsadda for best performance. The cash awards were distributed among 16 teachers of two schools during a ceremony organised at the Government Girls High School Shah Afzalabad to mark the 68th anniversary of the independence of Pakistan. District Education Officer Zohra Awan was the chief guest on occasion. She distributed the cash awards among the teachers for their best performance, 100 percent attendance, and good results shown by the students in the Secondary School Certificate examination. Principal of the Government Girls High School Shah Afzalabad, Naheed Irfan and Tahira Shaheen, principal of Government Girls High School Bashir Khan, were given Rs100,000 each. Similarly, other 14 teachers of the two institutions were awarded Rs50,000 cash each.
