ISLAMABAD: Minister for Finance Muhammad Ishaq Dar directed the Economic Affairs Division (EAD) on Sunday for expediting work on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.
The minister chaired a meeting to review the important economic projects under the aegis of the EAD. Secretary EAD Saleem Sethi gave a detailed update about financing arrangements of the rehabilitation of TDPs, said a statement.
The minister referred to the recent agreement signed with China on award of special grant of $10 million supporting Pakistan government in rehabilitation of the resident in FATA and promoting social development in the area.
Ishaq Dar also emphasized proper utilisation of these funds and said the government was deeply focusing on resettlement of the TDPs. He said all possible efforts needed should be made in this regard.
The minister also sought details about projects and programmes that the EAD envisaged to be implemented in FATA with the assistance of the Chinese government. Additional Secretary Finance and other senior officials of the Ministry of Finance and EAD attended the meeting.
