BAHAWALPUR: The Bahawalpur Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education on Saturday declared its annual matriculation exams result.
As many as 67,368 candidates appeared in the exams and 49,282 candidates were declared successful with 73.41 pass percentage. All first three positions were grabbed by girls’ students. The Science group was totally dominated by the girls as all three top positions were bagged by them. Hajra Khalid of Tameer-e-Nau Public School Canal View, Hasilpur and Zoha Tanveer of Iqra Girls Public High School shared overall first position with 1067 marks. Muhammad Saad Khan of Al Huda Grammar School, Rahimyar Khan, got second position with 1063 marks and Saeeda Younis of Government Girls City High School Bahawalnagar and Muhammad Arham Ashraf of Al-Pine Boys Secondary School of Sciences Khanpur jointly secured third position. Meanwhile, a function was organised in the honour of position holder students at the BISE Auditorium in which Punjab Minister for Cooperatives Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar was guest of honour. He gave away medals and cash prizes to position holder students. Earlier, Controller Examination Prof Nasir Jamil Anjum announced the result and congratulated the position holders. The board’s Chairman Rana Masood Akhtar and other officers also attended the function.
