ACE directors ordered to arrest POs

LAHORE: Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Director General has showed displeasure over increasing number of proclaimed offenders or court absconders and directed the regional directors, ACE, to constitute a squad to arrest proclaimed offenders or court absconders, The News has learnt.

According to sources, the DG showed serious concern that no serious efforts were made by regional directors to arrest the proclaimed offenders or court absconders while the directorate has constantly been conveying the ACE officials to improve their position to arrest the proclaimed offenders.

The Director General, Anti-Corruption Establishment, Muhammad Gohar Nafees also directed the regional directors to approach Regional Police Officers (RPOs) and District Police Officers (DPOs) of their jurisdiction concerned and request them for providing assistance to ensure arrest of the proclaimed offenders or court absconders. The regional directors were also directed to provide information about proclaimed offenders where they work in the offices and their salaries be stopped as per law. Inquires against the proclaimed offenders would be held under section 87&88 Cr.PC.

The regional director was made bound to submit progress report on arrest of proclaimed offender or court absconders on weekly basis for further necessary action.
