ISLAMABAD: Auditor General of Pakistan Rana Assad Amin has directed all the heads of offices/ departments under the jurisdiction of AGP that no officer/ official will be allowed to use of extraneous influence in respect of service matters.
The Auditor General of Pakistan observed that the officers at times attempt to bring the extraneous influences in respect of service matters, such as posting, transfer, deputation etc. These acts are not only in breach of Government Servants (Conduct) rules, 1964, but also constitute “Misconduct” in terms of the Government Servant (Efficiency and Discipline) Rules 1873. All the officers of Pakistan Audit Department have been advised in their own interest, to scrupulously observe the provisions contained in the Government Servants Conduct 1964 and discipline rules.
In future if any officer attempts to bring extraneous influence in respect of his/her posting, transfer, deputation, etc., a note to this effect will be placed in his/her Annual Performance Evaluation Report dossier unless, of course, proposals on these matters are made by competent authorities themselves.
The non-compliance of directive may lead to disciplinary proceedings against officer concerned as per E&D rules. This will promote meritocracy and also bring accountability and transparency in the affairs of the Department.
