Vice Chancellor Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) Dr Muhammad Ali Shaikh said on Monday that the university's Hassanally Effendi Library was being renovated on digital lines.
Online access to the books would be provided to readers and an online cataloguing system would also be developed, he mentioned.
Chairing a meeting at
the Conference Room of
Hassanally Effendi Library, the vice chancellor said a
separate website of the university's library would be
developed and the sharing of the latest information related to the latest books, journals and other material would
be made accessible for all employees and students of the SMIU.
The university would collaborate with national and international libraries for sharing learning resources. A multimedia room for students will also be added to the SMIU’s library for the purpose of group discussions on academic matters.
