Accidents on the Islamabad Expressway are a routine matter because people living on both sides of the road avoid using pedestrian bridges – since climbing all those stairs is quite a feat in itself – and they are found dodging several lanes of the high-speed traffic to reach the other end.
One is left wondering that if so many escalators can be installed in each of the numerous metro stations to provide ease for passengers of that service specifically lying only on one route why these cannot be installed in only a few pedestrian bridges on the Islamabad Expressway. Is the only priority for funds allocation an association to a trophy project?
