SWABI: The students seeking admission in various disciplines of engineering education and management sciences from all over the country would appear in the entry test of Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology today.
Jehangir Bashar, Rector of GIK Institute, told reporters on Saturday that the entry test centres had been established in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Multan, Peshawar and Quetta.
The official said the deputed staff had already reached their respective centres to facilitate the candidates.
“All the requirements to conduct the entry test in a befitting manner have been completed under the supervision of entry test committee members,” he maintained. He said the successful applicants would be offered admissions in discipline of chemical engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering (electronics), engineering sciences, materials engineering (manufacturing), materials engineering (nanotechnology), computer science, mechanical engineering and management sciences.
“There is no reserved quota and the applicants are selected on merit. The score in the entry test of each student would determine his/her admission in any discipline of engineering and management sciences in the Institute,” he said.
