DASKA: Additional Sessions Judge Ijaz Ahmed Butt on Tuesday awarded death sentence to a man in a murder case.
According to prosecution, Muhammad Younis of Motra had murdered his wife three years ago. The court acquitted co-accused Younis’s brother in the same case.
CHEQUES: On the order of the Punjab government, MPA Asif Bajwa gave cheques worth Rs 200,000 each to four persons who were injured in Daska incident.
The MPA awarded the cheques to Samiullah advocate, Jahanzeb Sahi advocate and passers-by Ziaullah and Abbas in the office of the AC.
THEFT INCIDENTS: Two theft incidents were reported here on Tuesday.
Ali Raza parked his motorcycle outside his house. When he returned, he found it missing. Iqbal parked his bike outside a shop in a bazaar but some thieves stole it.
5 POS HELD: City police have arrested five proclaimed offenders in different incidents here.
The police arrested the POs including Babar Ahmed, Amjad, Bilal Ahmed and Imran from different spots.
MAN BOOKED: Sadar police on Tuesday booked a man for sheltering a proclaimed offender.
On a tip-off, the police raided the house of accused Ibrar to arrest PO Imran but Ibrar helped him to escape.
