Three of a family killed as
speeding car hits them at Faisal Avenue

Three members of a family, including two children, were killed, while two others sustained critical injuries when a speeding car hit them when they were standing at the roadside at Faisal Avenue near Zero Point on Sunday morning.
The injured were shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) by a motorist. Both of them were stated to be in a critical condition. The driver of the car managed to escape from the scene.
The family was going to spend Sunday with their relatives.
According to information collected from police and relatives of victims, the family was living in 'katchi abadi' of G-8/4. The family decided to go to their close relatives living in Dhoke Kala Khan. Five members of the family, including Waris, 65, Musa, 10, Nania, 3, Rehan and Mansoor left for Dhoke Kala Khan. They walked to Faisal Avenue using a track and reached the road and stopped at the roadside to cross Faisal Avenue to board a passenger van. They were standing at the avenue when a speeding car, bearing registration number PS-448-ICT, hit the entire family and overturned.
Eyewitnesses said that the hit was so strong that the family members were scattered on the road and greenbelt, adding that the passersby rushed to the scene but three among them had expired on the spot while two were breathing but were seriously injured. The injured, identified as Rehan and Mansoor, were shifted to the PIMS with three corpses of Waris, 65, Musa, 10, and 3-year-old Nania.
The dead bodies have been handed over to their heirs after postmortem. The Margalla Police claimed that the whereabouts and identity of the speedster have been traced out through the ETO's record and a team has been sent to arrest him.
