ISLAMABAD: The International submarine cable SEA-ME-WE 4 has experienced a fault in Arabian Sea, impacting internet services in the region, including Pakistan, a statement said.The restoration work has been initiated by the international consortium that manages the submarine cable systems.
Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) by virtue of its investments in diversified International Submarine Cable systems, has already undertaken necessary measures to provide internet connectivity to its customers across Pakistan.
However, due to the fault in this undersea cable, the internet users may experience slow browsing during this period.The company regrets any inconvenience caused to its valuable customers during this restoration period. PTCL customers can contact helpline 1236 for further information.

Nestlé donates water to NDMA

KARACHI: Nestlé Pakistan has donated 80,000 litres of water to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to be distributed at centres set up for heatstroke victims in Karachi, a statement said on Friday.
The centres include four set ups by the Pakistan Army and 10 set ups by Sindh Rangers. The four Army centres are Ayesha Bawany High School, Shahra-e-Faisal; Shah Mardan School, Race Course Ground, Safora Goth; UP Mor Sindh Government Hostel, North Karachi; and Ansaar Memorial Football Ground, Singer Chowrangi, Landhi, it said.Waqar Ahmad, Head of Corporate Affairs at Nestlé Pakistan, said: “We want to stay close to the people of Karachi and help them through this difficult time.”

NIDA conducts training programme

LAHORE: The National Institute of Design and Analysis (NIDA), an associate wing of Technology Upgradation and Skill Development Company (TUSDEC), has concluded a three-month training programme in building painting, UPS and solar panel installation and advanced tailoring trades sponsored by the Population Refugees and Migration (PRM), a statement said on Friday.
NIDA spokesperson said that the in pursuance of the PRM’s Basic Education for Afghan Refugees (BEFARe), NIDA Centre Peshawar has imparted skill trainings to 55 trainees, who are being certified by KP Technical Training Board, it said.
NIDA has engaged highly seasoned trainers to impart the course curricula revealing the technical perspicacity. Major emphasis was laid upon competency based training and the trainees were acquainted with both conventional and most forward techniques, which will help them fine-tune their skill profile for better income generation, it added.

APBF, Argentinean envoy sign MoU

LAHORE: The All Pakistan Business Forum (APBF) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Dean of Diplomatic Core Islamabad Rodolfo Martin Seravia, who is also the Ambassador of Argentina in Pakistan, a statement said on Friday.According to the MoU, both the organisations will promote trade links and cultural exchanges to nurture closer understanding between the international community and Pakistan, it said.
