The Additional Inspector General of Police, Punjab Highway Patrol, Mian Javed Islam paid surprise visits to Sasta Ramazan bazaar Peoples’ Colony and Shaheen Abad Gujranwala, Sasta Ramazan bazaar, Aemanabad, and Kamonky.
He checked quality, price and weight of commodities. He inquired the buyers about quality, price and weight of the things being sold there. People expressed satisfaction and thanked the government. He briefed the security personnel and instructed in charges of bazaar to strictly observe the timing of 8am to 5pm.
2,265 BOOKED: Chief Traffic Officer Tayyab Hafeez Cheema visited the parking areas of Ramazan bazaars and checked traffic flow around the bazaars. He said crackdown on wheelie doers and encroachers would continue. He said cases were registered against 2,265 people for doing wheelie and squatters. He said traffic police need cooperation from parents and traders to control wheelie.
ACCIDENTS: At least 605 accidents were reported in Rescue 1122 Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 Districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours in which 10 lives were lost and 510 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. Some 208 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first aid on the spot.
