Freight train engine catches fire
TOBA TEK SINGH: A freight train engine caught fire at Dabban Wala Railway Station at on Tuesday.
The fire erupted in the engine due to short circuit in batteries. Rescue 1122 staff controlled the fire. As many as 31 oil tanker bogies of the train containing diesel remained saved from the fire.
Breach in Canal crops: A 10-feet breach in Gogera Branch Canal inundated crops near Pirmahal on Monday night.
The farmers and the Irrigation Department staff plugged the breach after hectic efforts of several hours.
The Faisalabad Irrigation Department chief engineer has ordered a probe into the incident.
CASH, VALUABLES LOOTED: Two dacoity incidents were reported here on Tuesday.
Four dacoits stormed into the house of Mujtaba and took away cash, 18-tola gold and other valuables.
In another incident, thieves broke into a mobile phone shop at Kamalia and stole mobile phones and cash.
