KARACHI: The Karachi Wholesale Grocers Association (KWGA) has urged the government to implement efficient tax system so that economic development could get a boost, a statement said on Tuesday.
KWGA Patron-in-chief Anis Majeed and Chairman Malik Zulfiqar emphasised that for Pakistan to work towards economic development implementation of an efficient tax system is a must. Appreciating the Federal Board of Revenue Chairman Shabbar Ziadi’s maiden notification after assuming the office, the association leaders said the business community was concerned about the number of taxes and harassment by the revenue officials and termed the FBR chairman’s decision regarding no more harassment to businessmen a positive step.
They demanded the newly-elected FBR chairman to implement the decision for boosting confidence in the tax system.
The KWGA leaders said said Ziadi is an expert tax practitioner and knows the problems being faced by the business community and taxpayers.
The business community is hopeful that he will be the right person to analyse the situation and resolve the issues being faced by them.
