The Commercial Banking Circle of the FIA has arrested seven people, including education officials of the Karachi Municipal Corporation, for bank fraud, said a statement on Wednesday.
A case has been registered against the men identified by the statement as Director Mansoor Mirza, Director Muhammad Amin, Deputy Director Razi Rehman, Assistant Director Muhammad Mazhar, clerk Hassan Ahmed, clerk Naveed James and HBL staffer Alim Qadri. They are facing charges of opening illegal bank accounts in the name of front men and illegally crediting salaries in their fake bank accounts.
