Labourer gunned down, two injured in firing incidents

A labourer was shot dead in the Shah Latif area on Saturday. Police officials said that the incident took place near Suleman Masjid within the limits of the Shah Latif police station. His body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for an autopsy and later handed over to the family for burial.

The deceased was later identified as 32-year-old Gulbahar, son of Dilshad Jatoi. He hailed from Shikarpur and was a labourer by profession. Police officials said the deceased was returning home from work when two unidentified armed men shot him dead.

He was shot once in his head and died on the spot. According to the police, the incident apparently occurred over personal enmity. Further investigations are under way.

Boy shot, injured

A 10-year-old boy, Sheraz, son of Saleem, was injured in a firing incident in New Karachi Sector 11-D. He was shifted to Abbassi Shaheed Hospital.

Police officials said the boy was apparently hit by a stray bullet which injured him, while investigations were under way.

Man injured in brawl

A 28-year-old man identified as Adil Shah was injured in a firing incident in Madina Colony within the limits of the Sacchal police station.

He was taken to the JPMC for medical treatment. Police officials said that the victim was injured during a clash with a man, Akbar, over some personal matter.

The police arrested the suspect and registered a case against him. Further investigations are under way.
