IHIG likely to increase investment
KARACHI: International Hospitality Investment Group (IHIG) is considering building hotels under a different brand name to offer a cost-effective vacation ownership system ‘Happily’ in Pakistan, the company CEO Noorul Asif said at his office on Friday.
“We want Pakistani families to spend time together on vacations,” he said, adding that the IHIG has already acquired two hotels and upgraded facilities with modern amenities in Shogran and Bhurban, and now the company was also considering building hotels under a different brand name.
Last month, IHIG leadership met with Board of Tourism Chairman Zulfi Bukhari and committed to invest $118 million in the tourism industry of Pakistan with focus on providing accommodation to families. Describing the brand name ‘Happily’, Asif said, “It is a combination of two words; happy and family. We have chosen this name because family bonding is the need of the day in Pakistan.”
