Buzdar visits RIC, PHA
Rawalpindi : Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar made a surprise visit to Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC) late Monday night and inspected its various sections. He also talked to the patients and their attendants about the facilities besides enquiring the doctors and paramedical staff about their problems.
The patients expressed their satisfaction over the RIC. Usman Buzdar said that transforming the RIC as cardiovascular diseases centre would be reviewed and this model would also be adopted in Dera Ghazi Khan and in the hospital to be set up in Quetta in collaboration with the Punjab government. He said that heart patients will be provided the best healthcare facilities and assured that RIC will be given every possible resource for free treatment. He was also given a briefing about the facilities. Provincial ministers Raja Basharat, Raja Rashid Hafeez and others were also present on the occasion.
The chief minister also visited the office of Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Rawalpindi and planted a sapling at the lawn of PHA. He was also briefed about the working of PHA Rawalpindi and its future plans. In the meeting presided over by Chief Minister Usman Buzdar a proposal was discussed to constitute a Task Force to protect historic and old buildings of Rawalpindi.
The meeting also decided to take measures to restore old mosques, Hindu temples and worship places of minorities to their original shape. The meeting also decided to construct parking plazas to resolve traffic issues in Rawalpindi.
He said protection and look after of historic and old buildings is our national responsibility and the constitution of Task Force for this purpose is being reviewed. He said we are considering converting Haveli Sujaan Singh into a museum.
