Bahrain lauds Pak efforts for conflict prevention
RAWALPINDI: Foreign Affairs Minister of Bahrain Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Khalifa called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa here on Tuesday and appreciated Pakistan’s contributions for conflict prevention in the region.
During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, including security situation in the region, were discussed. The visiting dignitary pledged to keep working for better relations between the two brotherly countries.
Separately, Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud also called on Gen Bajwa and discussed regional security situation and matters of professional interest.
The Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces acknowledged the sacrifices and achievements of Pakistan Army in fight against terrorism and efforts towards regional peace.Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said in a tweet Pakistan and Bahrain shared excellent bilateral relations, adding: “We want to build these relations through greater trade and investment”. Qureshi expressed gratitude to Bahrain for its support at the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) as well as its continued support for Pakistan’s stance on regional matters.
