KARACHI: New and harrowing information about the murder of the alleged mugger Irshad Ranjhani has came forth, when the ambulance driver recorded his statement in the court, saying the victim was also shot inside the ambulance.

The court has accepted the charge-sheet submitted by the police and transferred the case to the ATC court number 18 for further trial.

The driver said Ranjhani was shifted to the Shah Latif Town Police Station with severe bullet injuries and 15 minutes later, along with a police inspector Ali Gohar, he was taken to a local hospital.

During the process, alleged killer Rahim Shah followed the ambulance on a motorcycle and intercepted it. Armed with a pistol, Rahim spoke with Inspector Amir and later fired another bullet at Ranjhani.

The ambulance driver said the police inspector Ali Gohar told me to stay mum and rush to the hospital while the alleged killer Rahim Shah escaped. He said due to threat from the alleged killer Rahim Shah, he could not tell the truth to the police earlier. Ranjhani was pronounced dead at the Jinnah Hospital.
